INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS, RESP. FOR PROMOTERS OF PROJECTS UNDER SUB-PROGRAMME 2

Below is a clarification of the interpretation of the ZD

"The main objective of Subprogramme 2 is to support the development of young researchers in their research activities and the related rejuvenation of the health research community in order to maintain the continuity of applied health research for future generations. Under Sub-programme 2, support will be given to projects whose principal investigator can only be a natural person engaged in research who is no more than 35 years of age in the year of submission of the project proposal to the call for proposals and who holds an academic degree of PhD or equivalent, or who will have obtained such a degree by the date of conclusion of the contract/issuance of the project decision at the latest. Also, the age of the members of the research team (expert collaborators) is limited to a maximum age of 35 years in the year of submission of the project proposal to the call for proposals, except for one person from the research team (expert collaborator) who may reach a maximum age of 45 years in the year of submission of the project proposal to the call for proposals. The age limit does not apply to the other members of the project team referred to in Article 1.2(13)(4) of the tender dossier. The amount of eligible project costs under Sub-programme 2 is limited to EUR 7 million. The amount of the grant is limited to CZK 7 million.

The proposer is a natural person who has reached the age of 35 years or less in the year of submission of the project proposal to the call for proposals and has an academic degree of Ph.D. or equivalent (or will have obtained it by the date of conclusion of the contract/issuance of the decision at the latest). He/she has an employment relationship with the applicant (employment relationships based on agreements for work outside the employment relationship are not admissible).

Co-proposer(s) is/are a natural person who has reached the age of 35 years or less in the year of submission of the project proposal to the call for proposals. He or she has an employment relationship with the co-applicant (employment relationships based on agreements for work outside the employment relationship are not admissible).

An expert collaborator is a natural person - an expert member of the proposer's or co-proposer's team, who has reached the age of 35 years or less in the year of submission of the project proposal to the call for proposals. Only one exception is allowed for each given team (of the proposer and co-proposer(s)), i.e. one expert collaborator may be up to 45 years old in the year of the call for proposals. An expert collaborator is a named member of the research team with a fixed time and salary or is recruited on a contractual basis and is not designated as a technical, administrative or support staff member. The name, surname and date of birth must be completed.

An additional worker is a natural person who assists in the project (e.g. support staff, technicians and administration, FTE, FTE). Only the activities they carry out and the scope of these activities should be mentioned in the project proposal (they do not have to be mentioned by name) and the 'checkbox' for Administrative/technical/support staff must be ticked.

The amount of eligible project costs under Sub-programme 2 is limited to EUR 7 million. If the costs are higher, the project cannot be finalised and submitted.
