Board AZV Supervisory Board is the governing body of AZV.

Board Supervisory Board seven members, who are appointed and removed by the Minister. At least one member of the Supervisory Board must be an employee of the Ministry of Health. Membership on the Supervisory Board is non-delegable and incompatible with service in other AZV bodies. The term of office for members of the Supervisory Board, including the Chair, is two years, with the possibility of extension for no more than two additional consecutive terms. It is possible to be reappointed as a member of the Supervisory Board two years after the end of the original term. During their term of office, members of the Supervisory Board may not apply for project-specific funding in the role of project proposer/principal investigator or co-proposer/co-investigator.

Members of the Supervisory Board attend Supervisory Board meetings and actively participate in its activities.

The Supervisory Board is headed by Chair, who is appointed and removed by the Minister from among the members of the Supervisory Board. Chair the activities of the Supervisory Board, convenes its meetings, and is responsible for its operations.

Members of the Supervisory Board are entitled to remuneration for activities related to the performance of their duties; Chair AZV shall discuss the proposed amountAZV the Ministry of Health. The preceding sentence does not apply to members of the Supervisory Board who are delegated to the Supervisory Board by the Ministry of Health.

Board Supervisory Board :

a) Oversees compliance of the process for announcing a ministry-level public competition in research, development, and innovation; the process for accepting project proposals; the process evaluation project evaluation ; and the process for monitoring funded projects—with the Act, as well as Government Regulation No. 397/2009 Coll., on the research, development, and innovation information system; the M25+ Methodology, other regulations, and the published rules of the ministry’s public competition in research, development, and innovation; for this purpose, it is authorized to request all supporting documents that other AZV bodies are AZV provide to the Supervisory Board;

b) Members of the Supervisory Board regularly participate in all stages of the evaluation processes, overseeing the procedures followed by the expert evaluation bodies in assessing project proposals recommended for targeted support, particularly with regard to compliance with the tender documentation and the appropriateness of the requested support for the issue at hand;

(c) Oversees the procedures followed by expert evaluation bodies in evaluation and final reports on project implementation;

(d) Prepares written opinions on each Project referred to the Supervisory Board for review;

(e) Proposes the Rules of Procedure of the Supervisory Board.

The members of the Supervisory Board decide on the conclusions drawn from its meetings and on its resolutions by a vote. A simple majority of the votes of all members of the Supervisory Board present is required to approve a decision and/or resolution.
