The Supervisory Board of the AZV ČR is an expert body of the AZV ČR.

The Supervisory Board has 7 members appointed and dismissed by the MoH. At least 1 member of the Supervisory Board must be an employee of the MoH. Membership of the Supervisory Board is irreplaceable and incompatible with membership of other bodies of the AZV ČR. The term of office of the members of the Supervisory Board, including the Chair, is two years, renewable for a maximum of two additional consecutive terms.

During their term of office, members of the Supervisory Board may not apply for designated support in the capacity of proposer / co-proposer / co-proposer / co-investigator. The members of the Supervisory Board shall participate in the meetings of the Supervisory Board and take an active part in its activities. The Supervisory Board is headed by a Chair who is appointed and dismissed by the MoH by the members of the Supervisory Board. The Chair directs the work of the Supervisory Board, convene its meetings and is responsible for its activities.

Supervisory Board members are entitled to remuneration for the performance of activities connected with the exercise of their functions, the proposal for which shall be discussed by the AZV ČR Chair with the MoH. The preceding sentence shall not apply to the designated employee of the MoH.

The Supervisory Board particularly:

a) Shall supervise the compliance of announcing the ministerial public tender in research, development and innovation, the acceptance of project proposals, the evaluation of project proposals, the evaluation of the control of supported projects with the Act, Government Decree No 397/2009 Coll., on the Information System for Research, Development and Innovation, the Methodology for the Evaluation of Research Results, other regulations and the announced rules of the ministerial public competition in research, development and innovation, for which purpose it shall be entitled to request all supporting documents that other units of the AZV ČR are obliged to provide to the Supervisory Board.

b) Shall objectively and impartially evaluate the economic aspects of the project proposals recommended by the individual Panels for the award of designated support, in particular in terms of compliance with tender documentation and the appropriateness of the support requested to the issue addressed,

c) Shall evaluate the correctness of the calculation of the eligible costs in light of the Act and other European regulations,

d) Shall prepare written opinions on each project it assesses,

e) Shall propose the Rules of Procedure of the Supervisory Board.

The conclusions of the meetings and resolutions adopted by the Supervisory Board shall be decided by a vote of its members. A supermajority of the votes of all the members of the Supervisory Board present is required to approve the conclusions and resolutions.
