What should I do if I can't find my institution's PIC code in the app—should I create a new one, or might one already exist?

If an institution does not have a PIC code, it must be created. However, we recommend first checking whether one has already been created in the past, for example as part of previous projects or calls for proposals. In that case, the PIC code should already exist and be validated.
