Information about the call
The first joint transnational call of the EUP OH AMR Partnership: 'Treatments and adherence to treatment protocols (OH-TREAT)'aims to:
- development of new treatment protocols or alternative strategies for infectious diseases;
- improve, maintain and enhance the clinical efficacy of concomitant antimicrobial products;
- The need to identify barriers that prevent end users from properly adhering to established treatment protocols.
- Improve the success rate of treatment of bacterial and fungal infections in humans, animals and plants. This is to be achieved by developing new treatment options, while reducing the risk of emergence and spread of resistance within the One Health concept.
Projects must address one of the following three themes:
- Theme 1: Identify and develop new combination therapeutic approaches that use existing or new antimicrobial agents or their combination with complementary therapies. These approaches should prolong the effectiveness of drugs and reduce the development of resistance.
- Theme 2: Develop tools and methods to improve adherence to treatment.
- Theme 3: Assess the impact of antimicrobial use in veterinary and agricultural practice on the risk of transmission of antimicrobial resistance to humans and the environment, with the aim of informing policy development to limit the use of certain antimicrobials in humans.
Warning!: Czech applicants can participate in all three themes listed above. However, national support is limited to human health only.
Size of the project consortium
Each project consortium must include at least 3 eligible partners applying for funding from 3 different eligible countries - at least 2 of which must be from EU Member States or associated countries. The maximum number of partners in a consortium is 6, including those not applying for funding. This number can be increased to 7. The project coordinator must be eligible for funding by its regional/national funding organisation participating in the call. The project coordinator may not be changed between the first and second phase.
