How should the involvement of a partner institution that does not participate in research activities but handles tasks such as patient recruitment or sample collection be formally addressed? Is it necessary to submit a cooperation agreement at the time of application?
If a partner institution does not contribute to the project’s research objectives, it is not necessary to list it as a co-applicant. If a portion of the budget is allocated to it, its involvement may be arranged through subcontracting, in which case these costs must be listed in the relevant section of the Application Form. If, on the other hand, it participates in research activities, it must be included as a co-applicant, and a cooperation agreement must be concluded with it. In a situation where the institution is not acting as a co-applicant and is not allocated any funds, it is advisable for the partners to have at least a basic document governing their cooperation (e.g., due to the handling of sensitive data or GDPR compliance). However, this document is not a mandatory attachment forČR AZV ČR it is not necessary to submit it even in the second round of the call; its submission is purely voluntary.
