Is a patient NGO an eligible partner?

Yes, according to national eligibility rules, direct funding of patient organizations by the funding authority (the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic) is permitted; however, it is expected that the patient organization will act as a co-applicant. Patient organizations may receive direct financial support if they participate in research with clearly defined objectives and if their research activities are specified in their statutes or other similar documents. In this regard, some joint transnational calls also provide for a central funding mechanism that allows patient organizations to access funding.
