Is it sufficient for the lead Czech applicant to be a small or medium-sized enterprise registered in the EU, or must the lead applicant be a healthcare facility itself? Can a university institute, in partnership with a hospital, serve as the lead applicant?

A company may act as the lead Czech applicant. More information is available in the national document “Conditions for the Participation of a Czech Applicant in the Call”. This document contains all the information regarding who can be considered an eligible applicant. As for a university institute affiliated with a hospital, such as the Faculty of Medicine at Charles University and the Motol and Homolka University Hospitals, this is also an eligible applicant; however, the applicant’s identification number (IČO) is decisive, which in this case is that of Charles University.
