The OHAMR Partnership Provides Initial Information on the Upcoming Call for Proposals

The European Partnership on One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (OH AMR)— a partnership aimed at coordinating and harmonizing activities and funding related to antimicrobial resistance across countries— will launch a joint transnational call for proposals titled “Understand, Model, and Stop AMR Transmission” in mid-November 2026 .

The call for proposals focuses on:

  • preventing the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which is one of the most pressing global health challenges, with implications for human and animal health as well as the environment.

The goal is:

  • Develop new measures and improve existing ones based on a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying the emergence, evolution, selection, persistence, and transmission of resistance within and across the various areas of the “One Health” approach.

To address these challenges, transnational research projects focusing on the following thematic areas will be supported:

  • Topic 1:

A model of AMR transmission dynamics to predict the risk of AMR emergence and spread, to support decision-making by public authorities.

  • Topic 2:

Understand and characterize the role of host commensal microorganisms (including fungi) in the dynamics of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and develop solutions aimed at selectively decolonizing resistant organisms in the host (humans and animals) to prevent transmission.

  • Topic 3:

Develop or improve tools and methods to reduce resistant bacteria, fungi, and resistance genes in environmental hotspots, and investigate the impact of these tools and methods on the transmission of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Czech applicants may participate in all three of the above-mentioned topics. However, national funding is limited to the field of human health.

The Ministry of Health / Agency for Health Research ČR will participate in this call!

National rules and conditions for Czech applicants are currently being drafted; these will be based on the Program to Support Applied Health Research for 2024–2030: Subprogram 3: European Partnerships in Health, and will be published on the websites AZV andČR by the time the call for proposals is announced. We recommend regularly checking the websites AZV andČR —the Czech Health Research Agency (azvcr.cz) —as well as the official call for proposals page here.

The MoHCR will support Czech applicants through the national budget allocation. The total amount for the call will be EUR 500 000.

Important: The standard project duration for Czech principal investigators is a maximum of 3 years / 36 months. All projects will be funded under the Program to Support Applied Health Research for the period 2024–2030 and must therefore be completed no later than December 31, 2030, as the program itself ends on that date.

Only transnational projects will be funded. The call will be a two-round call.

Provisional timetable of the call:

18. 11. 2026Announcement of the call
25. 11. 2026 Information day for potential applicants
01. 02. 2027 Deadline for submission of pre-proposals
23. 06. 2027 Deadline for submission of full proposals

More information about the call's topics, the list of participating countries and funding organizations, as well as other conditions, is available on the official website EUP OH AMR.
